2025 Summer Internship — Broadcast Meteorologist & Multimedia Journalist Internship
The Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS) is seeking interns to join our team this summer. As an IBHS intern, you’ll contribute to our mission of strengthening homes, businesses, and communities against severe weather—which means making a difference in the lives of real people. What You’ll Learn
As a Broadcast Meteorologist & Multimedia Journalist intern, you’ll get experience in supporting FORTIFIED including, but not limited to:
- Working with Product Design team to develop creative storytelling skill sets
- Develop technical writing abilities to support product development
- Leverage videography/photography skills to support experiments – including shed, ADU burns, the wildfire conflagrations DDA planned for this summer and support content management across the organization
Location: Richburg, South Carolina
Qualifications
Successful candidates must have:
- Videography, photography, video/photo-editing skills, and graphic design
- Technical writing, communications, and journalism with emphasis on multimedia journalism
- Basic understanding of meteorology/weather or related earth or other sciences (i.e. STEM fields)
- Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, and HTML
- Has experience with digital media
Preferred Majors
Junior, Senior, or MA/MS in
- Meteorology
- Broadcast Meteorology
- Videography/Audio Engineering or related degree
- Multimedia Journalism
- Graphical Design
- Geography
- Civil Engineering or related engineering fields with education focus
